“Transgender people have a 1-in-12 chance of being murdered, compared to the 1-in-18,000 chance faced by average Americans (Human Rights Campaign, 2009).”
just let that sink in for a second.
The current date I have planned for the protest is Tuesday the 16th of July, two days before Parliament breaks up for summer. It will hopefully be outside the Houses of Parliament, and will be peaceful. I will be posting more details closer to the date, so follow the facebook page and the twitter! I hope to see you there!
Thank you for all of your support so far! It’s fucking amazing to see, really.
You guys are amazing, really.

The latest from UK Trans* Rights (@UKTransRights). I am sick of the lack of recognition of Trans* rights in the UK government, so we are taking a stand! Equal rights for everyone!
British Trans* Rights
I am a trans* person living in Britain and I have just learned that trans* people aren’t included in the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill. To be honest, trans* people aren’t really recognised in British parliament that much anyway, but I am finally deciding to take a stand.
I am planning a protest in London, and this blog will contain the information and details on the protest, and anyone can ask questions and support the blog and come to the protest. Trans* people don’t have much of a voice in the UK - or anywhere really - so I think it’s time we raised our voices a little. I am currently working at increasing publicity and informing the police of the date and place of the protest.
Feel free to ask anything you want to know, more details will be posted soon.
Please signal boost this, it’s an incredibly important issue, and I am sick of being ignored by politicians.
